Unseasonably cold weather brought on by an arctic blast over the weekend has eased up, but conditions were still chilly Monday morning.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said the mercury will gradually rise, with daytime highs to peak between 13 and 19 degrees Celsius.
But the agency warned there will be a big gap in temperatures from day to night.
Occasional gusty winds could also make it feel colder with the wind chill factor.
Clear skies will give way to increasing cloud cover by the afternoon, with rain forecast for the capital area, Gangwon's inland Yeongseo region, the Chungcheong provinces and Jeju Island.
Rainfall of up to 20 millimeters is expected in the greater Seoul area and 5 millimeters elsewhere through Tuesday.
