Morning lows are forecast to drop to subzero levels Friday.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said the mercury will fall to minus 5 degrees Celsius in northern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous areas of Gangwon Province, and parts of North Gyeongsang Province.
In Seoul, the morning low will hover around minus 2 degrees Celsius.
Conditions will warm up as the day progresses, rising to the teens in most regions in the afternoon.
Similar conditions are expected through Saturday before the weather returns to seasonal norms on Sunday.
