The health ministry says blood donations are urgently needed as the nation is facing a severe shortage due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
Authorities raised the alarm Friday saying only four days' worth of blood reserves are left.
Text messages have been sent out calling for donations.
The ministry reiterated that it's safe to give blood, noting there has not been a single case of related COVID infection.
Individuals interested in becoming blood donors should visit the Korean Red Cross' official website for more information.
