The transport ministry has fined Korean Air 2.79 billion won for the so-called nut-rage scandal.
The ministry made the decision during a meeting of its administrative measures committee today, saying the incident was a violation of flight regulations.
Former Korean Air Vice President Cho Hyun-ah and former executive Yeo Woon-jin were also fined 1.5 million won each for providing false testimonies.
In December 2014, Cho threw an onboard tantrum over a packet of nuts, prompting the plane to return to its gate and delaying the Seoul-bound flight from New York.■
