Korea's import of coffee is expected to shrink on-year for the first time in six years as demand for the beverage has been hit by sluggish economic growth.
According to data from the Korea Customs Service, total imports of coffee stood at 121,020 tons in the January to October period, down 1,100 tons from a year earlier.
It marks the first on-year decrease since 2012.
Observers say the latest figures could be a sign that the domestic market has become saturated.■
