Drivers and travelers who stop at expressway rest stops will soon be able to order and pay for food from the comfort of their vehicles using their smartphones.
The Korea Expressway Corporation annnounced on Friday that it has developed a contactless ordering system that will also help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
People will not have to wait in long lines or come into contact with workers.
The service uses a "smart ordering" function that can be accessed via Naver that connects to mobile payment systems.
It has already been implemented on a trial basis at numerous rest stops, including the Seoul Service Area.
By the end of next month, the ordering system will be at around 90 rest stops across the country, and expand to 150 locations next year.
