Samsung Electronics says it will not set up a physical booth to showcase its latest devices at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Spain due to novel coronavirus concerns.

The South Korean tech giant issued a statement Tuesday saying the "health and safety of our employees, partners and customers is our number one priority."

However, the company plans to join the in-person mobile technologies trade fair.

The annual MWC, considered one of the top three tech shows in the world, is scheduled to open on June 28 and run until July 1 in Barcelona.

Last year, the event was canceled because of the pandemic.
