Seoul To Halt Trash Collection During Lunar New Year Holiday
Waste collection services will be halted in Seoul over the Lunar New Year holiday.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government says various districts across the city may not collect household trash for up to three days.
On January 24th, the first day of the extended holiday, only the Dongjak District will be running garbage pickup services while the other 24 districts will stop collections through Lunar New Year's Day.
In an effort to reduce inconveniences, 16 districts said they will resume regular service on January 26th.
The city also plans to mobilize over 50,000 officials, street cleaners and volunteers to help clear local streets and roadways and clean up the capital ahead of the major holiday.■
