Gangnam Station was the busiest subway station in the capital last year.
According to data by subway operator Seoul Metro, the station in southern Seoul served an average 141,560 people each day in 2019.
The second busiest was Hongik University Station in the Mapo District followed by Jamsil Station in southeastern Seoul.
By line, subway Line 2 was by far the busiest with 2.2 million daily riders, or 30 percent of all subway passengers using it on average.
Line 7 trailed second with daily passengers totaling just over 1 million.■
