The number of COVID-19 cases at an insurance company call center in Seoul has almost topped 100, marking biggest cluster of infections in the capital.
Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon said 99 cases linked to the call center in the city's southwestern Guro District had been confirmed as of 7 p.m. Wednesday.
He said 207 employees had been screened and that the remaining 553 employees were being tested.
The first source of infection at the call center has not been identified.
The mayor stressed that no other call centers in the capital had confirmed cases of the virus.
The metropolitan government also plans to probe for any possible links this cluster may have to the Shincheonji Church of Jesus after five of the call center workers who tested negative for the virus were found to be followers of the religious sect.
Shincheonji is associated with more than 60 percent of South Korea's total infections.■
