A minibus operates on the streets of Seoul’s Sangam-dong.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government says it plans to operate 10 unmanned vehicles and robots in Sangam-dong in the Mapo District as the city aims to strengthen its smart mobility infrastructure.
The city said Tuesday it will begin operating three minibuses from June 8 while four sedans and three item delivery robots will go into operation at a later date.
The vehicles will travel along general traffic in an uncontrolled environment.
The joint project between the city, telecom, robotics and auto-tech companies has been on a trial run in Sangam since last September.
