Over 560 coin-operated singing rooms in the capital have been virtually shut down ahead of the weekend to prevent the further spread of the novel coronavirus.
The Seoul city government issued an administrative order late Friday that prohibits assembly at the singing rooms.
The city said it plans to file compensation suits against businesses where infections occur.
Those who visit such facilities and later test positive will also have to pay for medical treatment.
