The Seoul Metropolitan Government is urging people to be cautious and protect themselves against mobile phishing scams related to the government's third round of emergency coronavirus relief handouts.
Quarantine control officer Park Yoo-mi made clear in an online briefing Tuesday that people cannot apply for the assistance through messaging apps such as KakaoTalk.
She said people who are eligible to receive funds should have received a text message from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The government began providing the relief funds on Monday.
