A kindergarten in the COVID-19 hotspot Seoul has confirmed cases of infection among children and staff.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government on Thursday said 16 people from the kindergarten in the Nowon District have so far tested positive for the coronavirus disease.
The first patient identified in this group was a student who was diagnosed on Sunday.
Authorities believe the virus spread easily from one child to the next as theyw were allowed to play together for long periods of time with minimal to no social distancing.
The affected kindergarten has been shut down for two weeks and classes have been moved online.
