At least 36 protest leaders have been arrested in Myanmar in a series of raids by the security forces.

Those detained include celebrity critics of the military coup.

The BBC's Nick Marsh reports.

The latest wave of arrests targeted Myanmar's most outspoken anti-coup figures.

They included the veteran award-winning actor Zin Wine and the young singer Po Po, both arrested in the city of Yangon.

Perhaps the most prominent detention was that of Wai Moe Naing, a key figure of this year's protests.

An observer group estimates more than 3,000 people have been detained in Myanmar since the coup was launched in February.
