South Korea has reported 611 new cases of COVID-19 and two additional virus-related fatalities.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency on Thursday said 594 local and 14 imported infections were confirmed in the last 24 hours, bringing the cumulative total to 146,303.
The death toll rose to 1,979.
Efforts to contain the spread of the coronavirus continued to be hampered by cluster outbreaks across the country.
There are lingering concerns that infections could surge again as pandemic fatigue intensifies while people increase travel across the country for the summer vacation season.
Health authorities will decide on Friday whether to extend the current social distancing rules.
The greater Seoul area is under Level 2 distancing, while most other regions remain under Level 1.5.
