Health Minister Kwon Deok-cheol has reminded the public to continue to follow basic quarantine measures amid the ongoing pandemic and actively take part in the national vaccination campaign to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Kwon called for everyone to do their part during an interagency meeting Monday, as officials gear up to implement an eased social distancing scheme beginning in July.
He stressed that people should not let their guard down, even if antivirus rules are relaxed.
Although South Korea has not faced a serious surge of variant cases compared to other countries, Minister Kwon vowed to keep monitoring the situation around the world and make efforts to block the entry of potentially more transmissible variants.
