Eleven people affiliated with the SK Hawks men's handball team have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
Officials from Cheongju city, where the team is based, announced the cases Wednesday, adding that those infected include players and coaches.
They were tested after some of them began to experience symptoms of the disease.
According to officials, eight of them live together in dormitory-style housing.
Health authorities are carrying out epidemiological surveys to determine the route of infection.
