Typhoon Danas is expected to dissipate after making landfall in South Jeolla Province this afternoon.
The season's fifth typhoon battered the southern region with heavy downpours and strong winds overnight, flooding houses and disrupting flight and ferry operations.

Since midnight Friday, mountainous parts of Jeju Island got over 900 millimeters of rain, while Mount Jiri recorded some 300 millimeters of precipitation.
Dozens of houses, roads and greenhouses are reported to have been flooded on Jeju Island and in the southeastern port city of Busan.
The Korea Airports Corporation said as of this morning, 52 flights have been canceled in airports nationwide due to the storm.
Meanwhile, the Coast Guard said nearly 100 ferries operating in 66 routes across the country halted services.
Weather authorities expect the typhoon would make landfall in the South Jeolla Province this afternoon and weaken to a tropical storm soon after.
But residents in affected areas are advised to remain alert for flood and landslide risks until the rain lets up tomorrow.
