A 3.7 magnitude earthquake hit off Heuksan Island in South Jeolla Province Monday afternoon.
The Korea Meteorological Administration said the temblor was detected around 2:20 p.m. in waters 54 kilometers northwest of the island.
There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
