Four people have been booked without detention in connection to the collapse of a building in Gwangju earlier this week that left nine people dead and eight others injured.
Gwangju police revealed Friday that an official from the company tasked with demolishing the building and three construction site supervisors had been charged with professional negligence resulting in death.
They have also been banned from leaving the country.
The accident occurred when the five-story building under demolition toppled onto the street below, crushing a bus with passengers onboard.
Authorities plan to continue their investigation to determine the cause of Wednesday's deadly collapse and whether property safety guidelines were followed.
The infrastructure ministry has also launched its own probe into the accident and said it will come up with measures to prevent a recurrence.
