More spectators will be allowed to fill the stands at football and baseball games from next week.
The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters announced Friday that sports games held in cities under Level 1.5 social distancing rules will be capped at 50 percent capacity starting from Monday, and 30 percent capacity for matches held in area under Level 2 distancing.
The decision apparently comes as the national coronavirus vaccination campaign ramps up, while the government is expected to implement new social distancing rules in July.
Concerts will also be allowed to have over 100 audience members.
All concert venues will still have to adhere to basic quarantine rules, including socially-distanced seating, mandatory use of face masks and banning the on-premise consumption of food and drinks.
