The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Monday that 14 religious facilities violated coronavirus quarantine rules over the weekend.
Local authorities inspected on Sunday over 1,000 facilities across the capital, which is under Level 4 social distancing.
Thirteen of them went against a rule banning in-person services while the remaining on didn't follow mandatory mask wearing measures.
Officials plan to shut the facilities down and fine them.
One of the churches caught was Sarang Jeil Church, where a massive cluster infection occurred last summer at the height of the third wave of COVID-19 here.
